Just a rundown of some NBA news from the past week:
- Stephon Marbury will not be getting cut yet because the Knicks want to see how he does in training camp first. My guess is that he gets cut anyway. They are also bringing in former Knicks guard Allan Houston for training camp.
- The Bobcats extended an offer sheet to Carl Landry, who has been a very productive player off the bench for the Rockets. The Rockets can match the offer and I believe they should match it but with Joey Dorsey in the mix for the Rockets now I wouldn't be surprised if they let him go. This would be a good pick up for the Bobcats. Landry averaged 8.1 points and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 61.6% from the floor as a rookie last season.
- Somehow the Cavs have the 2nd highest payroll in the NBA behind only the New York Knicks. You would think they would have a better supporting cast for Lebron considering they are spending so much.
- The San Antonio Spurs signed former Hawks guard Salim Stoudamire. Stoudamire could potentially be a deadly shooter off the bench for the Spurs.
- The Wizards signed free agent guard Juan Dixon. Dixon didn't do much with Detroit last season but he might be a better fit to help contribute for the Wizards.
- Darius Miles will be suspended for the first 10 games of the season for violating the NBA's anti-drug program. This was a suspension that teams knew was going to happen if they signed him.
