Boston forward Kevin Garnett was injured late in the second quarter of the Celtics' 90-85 loss to Utah on Thursday night and went hopping on one foot toward the locker room.
The Celtics said he strained his right knee and would not return.
Garnett released a statement after the game, saying he would have the knee re-examined on Friday.
"We should have more information at that time. Obviously, I would much rather be playing instead of giving this statement," Garnett said.

Kevin Garnett Injures His Knee - Injury Update (Video)
First Jameer Nelson is done for the season, then T-Mac, then Ginobili gets hurt, and now KG!?? Okay, now either someone is messing with us big time or they really just want to ruin what was shaping up to be a GREAT NBA season. I mean I don't mind seeing Lakers and Cavs in the NBA Finals, but shoot I want to see them EARN IT, not cruise through the conference playoffs. Let's hope KG comes back full strength sometime soon.
