Vince Carter Traded To Orlando Magic & Amare Stoudemire To The Warriors?

Vince Carter: The Orlando Magic acquired Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson from the Nets for Rafer Alston, Courtney Lee, and Tony Battie. Make no mistake about it, Vince Carter has been brought in to replace Hedo Turkoglu and many experts seem to think that is an upgrade for the Magic because they feel that Vince Carter will flourish in Orlando's offensive scheme. That may very well be true because Vince is certainly more athletic than Turkoglu is. If Vince plays like he did last season for the Nets, then the Magic will certainly be an improved team. He posted a PER of 19.35 last season compared to 14.82 for Turkoglu. In fact, Turkoglu has never posted a PER higher than 17.66, while Vince's lowest PER was 18.93. So even in Vince's worst season he is an upgrade over Hedo Turkoglu. On the negative side, I'm not sure what Vince will bring to the table defensively and also if the Magic will miss the clutch shooting of Hedo Turkoglu. Vince for all his greatness has never really been all that clutch down the stretch. I also want to see how Vince fits in with his new team and who gets the most shots between him, Rashard Lewis, and Dwight Howard. Hell, even Jameer Nelson is deserving of getting more shots. In the end, I like this move for the Magic and I think it's a move that will make them better than Cleveland once again next season.

Amare Stoudemire: Reportedly the Suns are thinking about trading Amare Stoudemire for Andris Biedrins, Brandon Wright, and Marco Belinelli. I really don't understand this move because Amare is the one player the Suns should be building around in some sense. The player they should be trading is Steve Nash because he is getting older and will be a free agent next season. I'm not really sure what the Suns are thinking here and maybe it's just a crazy rumor, but it really makes no sense to trade Amare and keep Steve Nash. They might as well just blow the whole thing up and trade Nash too. They aren't going to win a championship with Nash. That window has been closed shut. However, there's still a chance that Amare Stoudemire matures and can help lead the Suns to a title in the future.
