A-Rod Could Miss 10 Weeks For Surgery To Remove A Cyst On His Hip

According to ESPNDeportes (and A-Rod's brother), A-Rod is going to miss at least 10 weeks because he needs to have surgery to remove a steroid growth...I mean a cyst on his hip. I swear this guy must get crapped on by birds whenever he steps outside too. He's a straight up mush like Eddie the Mush in A Bronx Tale. ESPNDeportes can be a sketchy source though, so it's possible this is not true, but I'm sure we will find out soon.

So what would the Yankees do to replace A-Rod for about two months? The way I see it is they have these options:

1.) Play Cody Ransom & Angel Berroa: not the best option, but a certainly one that will get consideration.

2.) Move Xavier Nady to 3B and play Nick Swisher in RF: Nady has played 3 games in his career at 3B and 82 at 1B, so it's an option, but not sure how much he would hurt the Yankees defensivley overall.

3.) Sign Ray Durham: Durham is still a free agent and can still play. He's never played 3B, but 3B is an easier position to play than 2B, so I think he can handle it. Durham made just three errors last season and his range would not be as much of an issue at 3B.
