2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 2 - Los Angeles Lakers 111 Houston Rockets 98 (Highlights)

Game 2: Los Angeles Lakers 111 Houston Rockets 98

Analysis: This was a pretty damn intense playoff game that you got to love watching if you are a fan. The intensity last night was great and it should continue throughout this series. In the first half, I was starting to wonder if the Lakers were going to go down 0-2, but then Kobe took over and made that a moot point. The Lakers were definitely trying to prove their toughness in this game and I think that will go a long way in deciding who wins this series. It doesn't look like the Rockets will be able to bully them any longer. I'm definitely interested to see how the Lakers play in Houston though. My guess is that they might be happy to come out of there with a split.

Key Players of The Game

Kobe Bryant: You knew Black Mamba would be in full effect after the Lakers Game 1 loss. Kobe came out strong and shot an impressive 16 of 27 from the floor for 40 points. He definitely looked like he was trying to set the tone for the rest of the series.

Pau Gasol: Gasol had a much better game in Game 2 after his subpar Game 1 performance. He shot 9 of 13 from the floor to finish with 22 points, while grabbing 14 boards, dishing out 4 assists, and blocking 4 shots.

Ron Artest: Artest has been great offensively in the first two games of this series. I'm kind of surprised he's been shooting the ball so efficiently from the floor and I have to wonder how long he can keep it up, since he wasn't the most efficient shooter during the regular season. He finished with 25 points on 8 of 14 shooting, including 4 of 7 from three, before he was tossed from the game.

Yao Ming: Anytime Yao Ming only takes 4 shots in a game the Rockets are most likely going to lose. The Rockets definitely need to get Yao more involved in the offense.

Carl Landry: I almost forgot to add Landry to this list. He was flat out GREAT in the first half of this game and finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting 7 of 9 from the floor.
