NBA Weekly

Not much to talk about in the NBA but I figured I would at least post what news did happen this week:

- It looks like the much rumored Zach Randolph trade to Memphis is all bet dead. I guess Memphis finally wised and realized that Randolph isn't worth the contract he's being paid. Memphis would have sent Darko Milicic and Marko Jaric to the Knicks for Randolph.

- Ben Gordon is still unsigned and Bulls talked to the Heat about a sign and trade but it doesn't look likely that it will happen.

- Portland's Channing Frye is going to miss 8-10 weeks after having ankle surgery. Portland seems to be an injury prone team and that might be the only thing that can stop them from becoming an elite team over the next few years.

- Shareef Abdur-Rahim is considering retirement. Abdur-Rahim has career averages of 18.1 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Grizzlies, Hawks, Blazers, and Kings.

- Darrell Arthur and Mario Chalmers were fined $20,000 each for their little incident at the NBA rookie symposium. They will not be missing any games due to suspension.

- The Celtics extended Doc Rivers contract giving him three more years as their head coach.

- The Cavs signed second round pick Darnell Jackson and added big man Lorenzen Wright in an attemp to bolster their front line. I don't think these moves will help the Cavs much though.
