Verse of The Week

With the presidential election this Tuesday, there has been a lot of presidential related music dropping lately, so it's no surprise that the Verse of The Week would be related to the election. Sha Stimuli gets the honors this week with his verse on his joint "Black President Pt.3" featuring Skyzoo

Verse of The Week

I guess that I should be happy, Dr. King had a dream it's lookin' like it's 'bout to happen
My grandmother woulda been clappin', if she lived to see it, I don't have the same reaction
'Cause on one hand I feel like we made it far,
we're not the monkeys and the coons that they say we are
We went from nigger to negro, we played our parts,
to racism on the low, still the hate is hard
So it feels kinda good to be accepted,
but brother Malcolm felt good being separate,
and he ain't get a holiday, he got a death wish,
so why are we so excited we got respect?,
'cause Obama has a chance to become the first African,
This is like the Oscars lettin' Denzel and Halle win,
like Mr. Drummond took Arnold and Willis Jackson in
Master let us clean up the kitchen and now we thankin' him
If God made us equal, the real mystery is how come a brown skin president is history
How come adults on the corner are talking shit to me about the Democratic convention,
and rappers are mentioning politics more, when before we ain't give a damn
A black man is black, but he is still a man
I'm just a little confused, maybe this is a scam,
givin' us a colored leader, USA got jungle fever
Nah, I'm just trying to get inside your mental,
real talk this event is still monumental,
and I support anybody that realizes when you focus on parents, then governments hardly matter
Not movies, not TV, not videos of rappers,
Joe Biden, Joe Budden, not McCain, not Palin
Look Barack can't raise your kids, so stop acting like it's somebody's fault when your son or daughter falls
(Sha Stimuli, Black President Pt. 3, Verse 2)
