Netherlands Eliminates Dominican Republic In World Baseball Classic (Highlights)

The Netherlands upset the Dominican Republic for the second time in the past week and eliminated them from the World Baseball Classic. To fully grasp how immense this upset was the Dominican team had all major league players on it's roster, including David Ortiz, Robinson Cano, Miguel Tejeda, Jose Reyes, Hanley Ramirez, Jose Guillen, Ubaldo Jimenez, Pedro Martinez, Carlos Marmol, and more; while the Netherlands had not one current major league player on their roster. Randall Simon and Sidney Ponson are the only players on the roster who had any noteworthy MLB playing time. The Dominican bats simply did not show up in this tournament and were shut down twice by the Netherlands. This is a colossal upset, but it also makes me wonder if any of the younger players from the Netherlands, especially their young pitchers, will actually make an impact in the majors at some point.
