2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 1 - Cleveland Cavaliers 99 Atlanta Hawks 72 (Highlights)

Game 1: Cleveland Cavaliers 99 Atlanta Hawks 72

Analysis: A couple of things jump out to me from this game. The first is that Mo Williams and Delonte West combined for 34 points on 12 of 23 shooting. Anytime those two score that many points the Cavs are tough to beat especially at home. However, nobody on the Cavs played really well except for Lebron, West, and Williams; so that might be something to keep an eye on going forward. The Hawks also got outrebounded 41 to 33 and turned the ball over 17 times. That's not a good combination for the Hawks, so it's no surprise they ended up getting blown out. It will be interesting to see what adjustments the Hawks make for Game 2.

Key Players of The Game

Lebron James: Typical Lebron game who is on top of his game right now. 34 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals; while shooting 12 of 20 from the floor. The Hawks did not make things tough enough for Lebron.

Mo Williams: Strong scoring game for Mo Williams. 21 points on 7 of 12 shooting; including 4 of 8 from three. He did only have 1 assist though.

Delonte West: West must have took over the PG duties for the Cavs, since he had 9 assists. He also score 13 points on 5 of 11 shooting.

Josh Smith: Smith has been the best player on the Hawks during the playoffs, including in this game. He scored 22 points and grabbed 6 boards.

Mike Bibby: Bibby had a solid Game 1 for the Hawks scoring 19 points and dishing out 8 assists. He also had 4 rebounds and 2 steals, but it wasn't enough for the Hawks to win.

Joe Johnson: The Hawks will not win a game in this series if Joe Johnson only takes 10 shots a game. I still think he's gonna struggle as long a Lebron is on him.
