2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 1 - Atlanta Hawks 90 Miami Heat 64 (Highlights)

Game 1: Atlanta Hawks 90 Miami Heat 64

Analysis: Wow, Josh Smith and the Atlanta Hawks put on a friggen' show in this game. I figured this would be a close series, but Game 1 wasn't close at all. The Hawks just blew the Miami Heat out from start to finish and it seems like they learned a lot from their playoff experience last season. The Hawks played great defense in this one holding Dwyane Wade to 19 points on 21 shots. Nobody else even bothered to show up for Miami. Their youth might have showed up in this one though. Still it will be interesting to see how Miami comes out in Game 2 and also how Atlanta plays on the road. This series is far from over but I have my doubts that Miami can match the defensive intensity of the Hawks.

Key Players of The Game

Josh Smith: Smith had a bunch of nasty dunks on this one and set the tone for the Hawks. He finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals; while shooting 9 of 14.

Dwyane Wade: The Hawks were able to limit Wade to 19 points on 21 shot attempts and only sent him to the line 4 times. Wade also had 8 turnovers. The Heat can't win with Wade having games like that...point blank, period, end of story.

Jermaine O'Neal: No, he didn't get dunked on...but he didn't do much else either. O'Neal finished with just 5 points and 2 rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
