2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 2 - San Antonio Spurs 105 Dallas Mavericks 84 (Highlights)

Game 2: San Antonio Spurs 105 Dallas Mavericks 84

Analysis: This game was all about two things: the Spurs defense and Tony Parker. Both were much better in Game 2 then they were in Game 1 as the Spurs came out aggressive from the jump. If the Spurs can match their defensive intensity from this game throughout the rest of the series then I expect them to come out of the series victorious. Also, in Game 2 Brandon Bass and J.J. Barea were not able to duplicate their strong Game 1 performances, which is why I wasn't too worried about the Spurs loss in that one. The Spurs were able to cream the Mavs on the boards as well, outrebounding them 44 to 28.

Key Players of The Game

Tony Parker: Parker was phenomenal in this game hitting 16 of 22 shots for 38 points. He also added 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals as he once again proved that Jason Kidd is no match for him.

Dirk Nowitzki: Dirk came up small in Game 2 and has no had two straight games of not so stellar play. He hit only 3 of his 14 shot attempts, scoring just 14 points and grabbing only 6 rebounds. That is not going to be enough to get it done if the Mavs want to advance.
