2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 4 - Houston Rockets 89 Portland Trailblazers 88 (Highlights)

Game 4: Houston Rockets 89 Portland Trailblazers 88

Analysis: The difference in this series has been the experience of the Houston Rockets. The Trailblazers had every chance to win this game and should have won it, but they didn't make the plays down the stretch because they were careless and sloppy with the ball. They blew at least 5 possessions in the 4th quarter with stupid plays and poor shot selection and Chuck Hayes made a great hustle play by getting a charge on Brandon Roy on a huge possession down the stretch. I'm still not sure how Hayes was able to get underneath Roy and set his feet so quickly in order to take that charge. That being said, Brandon Roy has been the best player in this series, but still the Rockets continue to win because of plays like the one Hayes made at the end of the game. If Portland could be more efficient with their offense and stop making silly turnovers and taking bad shots then they would be winning this series right now. The Rockets have been getting by on effort and I don't see them challenging the Lakers much if they get past Portland. In fact, I see that series going 5 games tops.

Key Players of The Game

Shane Battier: Battier hit two huge threes that basically won the game for the Rockets. He's played well two games in a row now and he finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, while nailing 4 threes.

Yao Ming: Yao was strong inside with 21 points ans 12 rebounds and 7 for 14 shooting.

Luis Scola: Scola has been excellent in this series averaging 16.8 points and 7.5 rebounds. There's really no reason why Portland shouldn't be able to slow him down, but he continues to play well. He finished with 17 points and 8 rebounds in this one.

Brandon Roy: Roy was the best player in this game and finished with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. However, it wasn't enough for the victory.
