2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 3 - Houston Rockets 86 Portland Trailblazer 83 (Highlights)

Game 3: Houston Rockets 86 Portland Trailblazer 83

Analysis: I honestly have no idea how the Rockets won this game. Yao, Artest, and Brooks all sucked combining for just 27 points, but the Rockets still managed to win. I think Portland blew a great opportunity to go up 2-1 in this series. Roy and Aldridge has subpar games, combining to shoot 12 of 33 from the floor and scoring just 32 points. Those two guys definitely need to play better than that in Game 4 for the Blazers to win on the road. Houston was 19 of 24 from the line in this game compared to the Blazers who only took 10 free throw attempts. The Blazers were also outrebounded 41 to 32.

Key Players of The Game

Luis Scola: With Yao, Artest, and Brooks all playing poorly, Scola stepped up his game taking a team high 15 shots and nailing 9 of them. He finished with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.

Shane Battier: Battier also stepped up his game and hit 6 of his 10 shots to finish with 16 points. He also had 4 blocks and 2 steals on the defensive end.

Yao Ming: 7 points and 13 rebounds on 2 of 7 shooting. That's back to back shitty games from Yao and while the Rockets are still winning, I don't think they can continue to win with Yao such a non-factor on the offensive end.

Steve Blake: Blake played the best offensively of all of the Portland starters. He finished with 16 points and 10 assists, while shooting 6 of 11 from the field and nailing 4 threes.

Rudy Fernandez: Rudy had a big game off the bench finishing with 17 points, including 5 threes.
