2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 5 - Atlanta Hawks 106 Miami Heat 91 (Highlights)

Game 5: Atlanta Hawks 106 Miami Heat 91

Analysis: The Hawks won this game for two reasons. They attempts 9 more free throws than the Heat, making 8 more than the Heat did and they outrebounded the Heat 37 to 29, including 12 to 6 on the offensive boards. Everything else is this game was pretty equal. The Hawks lost Al Horford to an ankle injury in this one, so the fact they still came out victorious is pretty impressive, because they aren't really that deep down low. However, if he has to miss Game 6 then the Hawks could be in trouble in the road.

Key Players of The Game

Joe Johnson: Johnson finally had a strong game in this series by capitalizing on all his trips to the free throw line where he nailed 12 of 15. He only shot 6 of 15 from the floor though. He still finished with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Josh Smith: J-Smooth was his typical self in this one and threw down a few monster dunks. He finished with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Flip Murray: Murray had a monster game off the bench for the Hawks scoring 23 points on 9 of 15 shooting. He also had 5 rebounds and 3 assists. I'm not sure the Hawks win this game without his strong play.

Dwyane Wade: Wade finished with 29 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, but the Heat didn't have enough firepower to keep up with the Hawks in this one. Nobody played badly for the Heat on the offensive end, but they allowed to much on the defensive end to stay in this one.
