2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 3 - Utah Jazz 88 Los Angeles Lakers 86 (Highlights)

Game 3: Utah Jazz 88 Los Angeles Lakers 86

Analysis: Okay, so Kobe Bryant shot 5 of 24 from the field and the Utah Jazz still only won by 2 points. Yup, I wouldn't be all that worried if I was the Lakers right now. Utah usually plays better at home and yeah their defense might have improved on Kobe, but he's not going to shoot 5 of 24 every game and if I'm the Lakers I'd actually be feeling pretty good about this loss considering all of that. Worst case scenario, the Lakers go back to LA tied 2-2 where the Jazz still haven't proved they can beat the Lakers.

Key Players of The Game

Carlos Boozer: Anytime you score 23 points, grab 22 rebounds, and dunk on Pau Gasol then you pretty much are the KEY player of the game. Boozer was excellent tonight, especially on the boards, which helped the Jazz outrebound the Lakers 55 to 40.

Deron Williams: Williams hit the game winning shot, but he didn't have an incredible game. He shot just 3 of 7 from the floor and even missed 5 of his 12 free throw attempts. He did throw in 9 assists and 5 rebounds to go along with his 13 points though. I still think he needs to play better than this going forward for the Jazz to beat the Lakers.

Kobe Bryant: Kobe was horrendous in this game shooting just 5 of 24 from the floor. He still managed to finish with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, but this was not the way the Lakers expect Kobe to play in order for them to be victorious.

Lamar Odom: Odom has played well for the Lakers in this series, which is a good sign for them going forward. He finished this game with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while shooting 10 of 17 from the floor. He helped pick up the slack for Kobe's off night along with Pau Gasol, but in the end it just wasn't enough to pull out the victory.

Matt Harping: He scored 10 points in 13 minutes of action and gave the Jazz a much needed boost off the bench along with Kyle Korver.
