2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 1 - Denver Nuggets 113 New Orleans Hornets 84 (Highlights)

Game 1: Denver Nuggets 113 New Orleans Hornets 84

Analysis: I loved the way the Nuggets played defense in this game and all the intensity they came out with. If they play defense with that type of intensity every night, then this team will be in the Western Conference Finals squaring off against the Lakers for sure. Of course, Chauncey Billups really set the tone tonight for the Nuggets on the offensive end and you can tell this team is going to have a lot more playoff success with Billups running the show. The Hornets couldn't get anything going on offense, so we'll have to see what adjustments they make in Game 2. They also got destroyed on the boards by the Nuggets, 49-35.

Key Players of The Game

Chauncey Billups: 36 points, 8 threes, 8 assists, 2 steals, 10 of 15 from the field, 8 of 9 from downtown, and 8 of 8 from the line....need I say more???

David West: West shot a horrendous 4 of 16 from the floor in this game and finished with just 12 points. He definitely needs to play better than that for the Hornets to win this series.

Chris Paul: The Nuggets were able to limit him to 7 of 19 shooting from the floor and he scored just 21 points. He didn't have a bad game, but the Nuggets didn't allow him to go off for a big game.
