2009 NBA Playoffs: Game 5 - Boston Celtics 106 Chicago Bulls 104 (OT) (Highlights)

Game 5: Boston Celtics 106 Chicago Bulls 104 (OT)

Analysis: The one thing you can't say about this series is that is hasn't been entertaining. Hell, this was the 3rd OT game of this series, which is an NBA Playoff record. There's also one thing you can't say about both Paul Pierce and Ben Gordon and that is that they aren't clutch. Both of them have hit clutch shot after clutch shot in this series and they are part of the reason why this series has been so great. The Celtics seem to be in control of this series now and it will be interesting to see if they can close things out in Chicago or if they will have to come back home to Boston for a Game 7.

Key Players of The Game

Paul Pierce: The man is flat out clutch and took this game over down the stretch and in OT. You know that area on the court between the free throw line and the three point line? Well, Pierce owns that...it's his....point blank, end of story. Pierce finished with 26 points and 7 rebounds and hit about 5 or 6 shots for the Celtics where they absolutely needed to score or else they would have lost.

Rajon Rondo: Rondo had another monster game and finished with 28 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists, and 2 steals, while shooting 12 of 22 from the floor.

Ben Gordon: He shot only 6 of 21 from the floor, but it seemed like all 6 of those shots were huge, not to mention the 3 free throws he sank to tie the game up. He finished with 26 points and 6 assists and nailed 11 of his 12 free throws.

Joakim Noah: Noah was excellent down low for the Bulls in this game with 17 rebounds and he also chipped in with 11 points.

Kendrick Perkins: Without Perkins in this game, the Celtics would have had no chance on the boards. He pulled down 19 of them and scored 16 points and blocked 7 shots. A monster game for Perk, who was the unsung hero of this game.

Kirk Hinrich: Hinrich had a strong game off the bench finishing with 19 points on 6 of 12 shooting.

Glen Davis: Big Baby had another strong game for the Celtics scoring 21 points on 7 of 11 shooting and grabbing 6 rebounds. He's definitely eased the loss of KG on the offensive end of the floor.
